1. Leave Work at Work

Depending on your job, this may be hard to do. But if it’s possible, don’t bring work home and avoid staying late if it’s not necessary.

The only way you’ll be able to find the right balance is if you keep work and personal life separate.

Don’t take up time in your personal life doing work related things. When you finish your job for the day, take a deep breath and remind yourself that you are off to focus on personal matters than mean the most to you.

2. Make Time For Yourself

You can’t fill from an empty cup, mama!

One of your main priorities is making sure you take time for yourself. Whether it’s a little bit each day or you find specific days of the week where you have time to focus on self care.

In my case, once my son was sleep trained, 7-9 became my “me time.” I know that everyday, I will have 2 hours to myself before going to bed.

Go over your schedule and see when the best times would be to take care of yourself.

If you are able to practice self care and feel refreshed, then you will be a better mom, wife, employee, etc.

3. Find Little Moments With Your Baby

As a working mom, you may experience mom guilt if you feel that you don’t get to spend enough time with your baby.

If you want to find the right balance, think about how you can squeeze in extra time with your little one.

I used to get up, feed my son, and put him back to sleep while I got ready for work. But I realized some mornings he wasn’t quite ready to go back to sleep.

So I decided to have him hang out with me while I get ready. My son plays while I’m eating breakfast and packing my lunch. It’s made my mornings so much brighter and managable, seeing his smiling face before I have to leave!

4. Set Aside Time With Your Spouse

Set aside time with your spouse so that you can have something just for you two.

Little things like eating dinner together every night or having a show you watch together weekly can make a huge difference.

Keeping your bond strong will also help you be the best parents you can be.

5. Schedule Girl Time

If there’s one thing that all working moms with babies need, it’s girl time!

I always make sure to have plans with my friends each month. It allows me time to take a break from being mom.

Having my girl time is one of those things that helps me feel like myself and like I have my own identity.

It’s easy to let your life revolve around taking care of those around you. But finding the perfect balance requires you to do things for yourself. Whether it is self care time alone or going out with your friends.

6. Accept That The Balance Won’t Always Be Equal

It’s important to remember this: sh*t happens!

There will be times where you have a busy season at work and it will need to consume a little more of your time. Or you may not get to see your friends as often because you are doing more with your family.

Maybe time with your spouse gets put on hold because the little one is taking up your time.

No matter the circumstance, it’s important to accept that there won’t always be an equal balance between everything you have going on.

What’s important is when you recognize where there is an imbalance and you decide to make time for the other things that matter to you.

Final Thoughts on Tips for Working Moms With Babies

All working moms want to have a solid work-life balance. It’s essential to remember that our balance won’t always be perfect and equal. But this doesn’t mean we can’t achieve an overall well-balanced life.
