The Best Postpartum Recovery Checklist
The end of pregnancy can feel overwhelming because there is SO much to get prepared for your new arrival. But not only do you have to make sure baby is set, you need to take care of yourself too, mama!
It probably already feels this way, but once your bundle of joy is here, they are priority. As a result, you will find that you put yourself last.
But when it comes to your postpartum recovery, make sure that you are prioritizing yourself as needed.
In this post, I am sharing items that were essential for my postpartum recovery.
Since every birth is different, every woman’s needs will be different as well. I made sure to include items on this list that can apply to all mamas, no matter what kind of labor and delivery experience they had.

#1 Perineal Bottle

A peri bottle is an absolute must have for your postpartum recovery. This ensures that you can keep yourself clean when using the bathroom.
I took mine from the hospital but it wasn’t shaped like this Frida Mom Peri Bottle so I went ahead an purchased one. This shape makes it so much easier to clean yourself up!
#2 Ice Pack Maxi Pads

In my experience, the best thing in the world was getting an epidural. The second best thing was ice pack maxi pads!
They brought me such relief while I was at the hospital and I had to make sure I had them for when I got home.
These Frida Mom Instant Ice Maxi Pads were an absolute life saver!
#3 Donut Pillow

I SO wish I purchased one of these after giving birth! Although my tearing was minimal, it was still very uncomfortable to sit down for about a week after delivery.
Even shifting just a little bit in my seat to reposition would be painful. Having one of these pillows would’ve made my recovery a little bit easier. Be sure to get yourself a donut pillow!
#4 Comfy Nursing Bras

I talk about these bras all the time and for good reason! I purchased these bras and wore them all throughout my pregnancy.
They were perfect for nursing and pumping postpartum. I found that I practically lived in my bras when I was breastfeeding and pumping for the first month postpartum.
If you’re going to be wearing a bra 24/7, make sure it’s comfortable! Grab yourself this set of nursing bras.
#5 Pajamas

Your postpartum recovery is going to be all about comfort. If you plan to breastfeed or pump, having comfortable clothes to nurse in will be a blessing.
Get a comfy set of nursing pajamas to make yourself feel cozy while taking on your new role as a mom!
#6 Postpartum Underwear

Postpartum is going to be all about comfort, not style. Having a set of underwear like these will not only be comfortable, but will also be able to hold your maxi pads that you’ll be wearing for a little while!
#7 Nipple Balm

If you are planning to breastfeed, this balm is a MUST! I only breastfeed for a few days before I started exclusively pumping.
I wish I used this balm right away from day one. You will find that your nipples become really chapped, REALLY fast.
This nipple balm made a night and day difference when I started using it regularly. Even when I was pumping, I still continued to use it to keep my nipples moisturized.
(Optional) #8 Frida Mom Recovery Kit

If you’re looking to have most of your postpartum needs come in one package, this Frida Mom Postpartum Recovery Kit could be right for you! It doesn’t include the peri bottle, but it includes some great postpartum recovery essentials.
Wrapping up my Postpartum Recovery Checklist
As a new mom myself, I have learned a lot about pregnancy and postpartum essentials. I like to keep my checklists straightfoward and minimal because a lot of information out there can be overbearing.
