Reasons to Use Amazon Baby Registry
While pregnancy and prepping for a baby can be overwhelming, something that can make the process fun is putting together your baby registry!
There are TONS of places you can create a registry but I decided to go with Amazon. I couldn’t be happier with my experience and would recommend it to anyone!

Here are the top 5 reasons why you should create your baby registry on Amazon.
1. The Majority of People Are Familiar With Using Amazon
What’s great about using Amazon for your baby registry is that it’s a website most people are familiar with.
Since a lot of people already use Amazon for day to day purchases, your friends and family will have no problem finding your registry and placing orders.
It’s a great one stop shop for all of your baby’s needs!
2. You’ll Reveive a “Completion Discount”
Amazon offers something called a “completion discount” for your registry. This discount can be used on any items still left on your registry. Here are some important details to know:
- Non-Prime members receive a 10% discount while Prime members receive 15%
- The completion discount begins 60 days prior to your due date and is valid 60 days after due date.

3. Amazon Provides a Checklist to Guide You In Creating Your Registry
One of my favorite features when creating my baby registry on Amazon was the “checklist” tab.
The checklist tab is broken down into categories such as Strollers & Car Seats, Nursery Furniture, Feeding, and many more.
As a first time mom, this was incredibly helpful! I was a little overwhelmed with the process of creating a registry. I didn’t know where to begin and didn’t want to leave out any important essentials.
Once I saw the checklist, I used it as a guide and didn’t forget any must-have items.

4. Amazon Has an Option for “Group Purchasing”
A feature I thought was so cool on the Amazon Baby Registry was group purchasing. This is a great option for some of those pricer items such as a stroller or crib.
For individual items, you can set up group purchasing so that your friends and family can contribue a certain amount to an item rather than paying for the entire thing.
For example, if you have a $300 item, someone can contribute $50 to it while someone else contributes $25, $100, etc.
Group purchasing can come in handy if there is a group of people, such as coworkers, who want to get you a gift and all want to pitch in for something.

5. Receive a FREE Welcome Box When You Create an Amazon Baby Registry!
One of my favorite perks of creating an Amazon Baby Registry was receiving a FREE Welcome Box with samples of baby products.

The conditions for receiving your welcome box are:
- Must have an active Amazon Prime account
- Create a baby registry and complete 60% of your checklist
- Have over $10 worth of purchases made on your registry (from yourself or others)
Once you complete all of this, you can then claim your welcome box!
It’s important to note that each welcome box is different and you may not receive some of the same items I received.
For something that is free, it is definitely worth a shot to see what you get!
Final Thoughts on Using Amazon for Your Baby Registry
As I mentioned before, Amazon is a one stop shop for your everyday needs. Since so many people use it anyway, it’s the most convenient site to set up your baby registry.
Plus, you get to enjoy the perks of the completion discount and welcome box!
